Surface colours / light management

Reflective.
Different surfaces. Different purposes.

Reflective mulch films help growers consider how film colour interacts with sunlight and the soil surface. Within this direction, Silver/Black and White/Black serve different practical priorities.

that fits the field.

The upper surface manages incoming light differently, while an appropriately opaque black underside helps block light from reaching weed seeds beneath the mulch.

Surface options

Different Surfaces.
Different Purposes.

Reflective mulch films designed for different growing conditions, from sunlight management to soil temperature control.

Reflective light management

Silver / Black

Silver/black reflective mulch films are suited to growing conditions where growers want a reflective upper surface, weed suppression from a black underside, and a cooler bed surface than traditional black mulch. In certain applications, reflective silver surfaces have also been studied for their influence on flying pests such as aphids, whiteflies and thrips. Performance depends on crop type, field conditions and how much reflective surface remains exposed during the crop cycle.

Ideal conditions

High-light, warm-climate cultivation where reflective light management is beneficial.

Soil temperature management

White / Black

White/black mulch films are commonly used where limiting heat absorption is a stronger field priority. With the white side facing upward and the black side underneath, this construction helps retain the agronomic benefits of mulch while moderating soil temperature under warmer growing conditions. It is especially relevant for summer plantings and environments where black mulch may contribute more heat than the crop requires.

Ideal conditions

Hot-season cultivation where maintaining cooler soil conditions is a priority.

Fit for purpose

The Right Surface
for Every Field.

The right reflective mulch depends on more than colour. Climate, planting season, crop requirements, local pest pressure and bed temperature goals all influence selection. At ANVIX™, reflective mulch is approached as a fit-for-purpose solution — not a one-colour answer for every field.
